Dragon fruit seeds are black and are obtained from dragon fruit. Planting the seeds of a pitaya is a simple approach to developing your dragon fruit cactus. However, if you cultivate a dragon fruit plant from a seed, you should be aware that it might take several years for it to produce fruit. Grow dragon fruit in a bright part of your yard or on a sunny windowsill with at least six hours of direct sunshine each day for the greatest results. Pick a potting soil that drains well and is high in organic matter for the soil. Spread the seeds evenly over the soil surface and then cover them with a thin layer of dirt. If the water barely covers the seeds, they don’t need to be buried too deeply.
Growth and the Care of Dragon Fruit Seeds
Almost all dragon fruit varietals require frequent irrigation. Water or spray the soil bed frequently to keep it equally hydrated. If your soil is prone to drying out, you can wrap the soil bed in plastic until the seeds sprout. Growing plants should be thinned out to maximize growth. If you cultivate them indoors, transplant them into bigger pots. Cacti that climb are called dragon fruits. Once they stand 35 cm tall, assistance will be required. Place a wooden pole or trellis so that your plant may grow. The plant can also be kept in the tub outside throughout the summer.

Spread the seeds of the dragon fruit across the earth’s surface, then add a thin layer of dirt to cover them. The seeds don’t need to be buried; you may barely cover them. The soil bed should be continuously misted or watered to keep it evenly wet. Cover the soil bed with plastic wrap if the soil tends to dry up to keep it damp until the seeds sprout.
When your pitahaya seedlings are approximately 2 inches tall and starting to grow, thin them out to make room for each new plant. Discard the weaker ones and keep the best-looking ones.
If you are growing them in pots, move them into a bigger one when they are around 20 or 30 cm tall. A pitahaya plant needs a minimum of a 5-gallon container to thrive. Pitahaya fruits are climbing cacti; therefore, once your plant reaches 30 cm in height, it will require a support system to continue growing.
